Camping & Accomodation

Where can I stay during the festival?

If you are planning on coming just for the weekend you can stay at the Watergate Bay campsite just minutes away from the music festival. Set in one of Pete's (the local farmer) fields, this is the perfect opportunity to soak up the sea air with your fellow festival-goers in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Late night campsite entertainment will also be provided! Visit the Watergate Bay info page for more.

For those of you who are planning on attending the entire 5 days of the festival there are many places to stay in and around town. These vary from other, non-festival campsites to guesthouses, hostels, hotels and everything in between! For more info check out http://www.visitnewquay.org

Do you need a ticket for campervans?

You will need to purchase a weekend camping ticket and a campervan ticket. Please visit our ticket information page for more details.

Can I park my car in the campsite next to my tent?

No, all vehicles must be left in the car park. A car may be used to tow in a caravan, but must then be removed from the site and left in the car park throughout the weekend. If you have a camper van you must buy a camper van pass which you can buy on the ticket purchase page.

Can I reserve a camping place?

Only VIP pre-erected tents are able to be reserved. However, if you purchase a Thursday - Sunday ticket you will have the luxury of cherry picking your spot before Friday - Sunday ticket holders arrive. If you want to guarantee a good pitch... make sure you get there early!

Can I camp for one night only?

Unfortunately you cannot camp if you have only purchased a day ticket. If you do want to camp make sure to purchase a weekend camping ticket!

Will there be showering facilities?

Yes, there are showering facilities if you feel the need to freshen up. There are likely to be queues in the morning around 9am – 11am so it is advised you use these facilities at off peak times to avoid queuing.

Can I bring my cooker?

We apologise but you cannot bring disposable or portable BBQs, gas/paraffin lamps or any kind of cooking equipment due to the risk of fire

Event & Access

What facilities are available for disabled access?

Boardmasters is committed to making the site accessible for those with disabilities. However, as it is a festival site there are areas of uneven ground that could make access difficult. Stewards and medical team-members will be on hand to help if you require assistance. There are toilet blocks and other public areas designed for wheelchair use.

Is there a carer scheme in place?

There is a 2 for 1 ticket application in place this year for persons who require a personal carer. To receive this, please purchase 1 ticket, then email your name and ticket confirmation with a copy of your DLA letter to boardmasters@visionninegroup.com. If eligible, we will send you another ticket to match the first. Please note that you must have submitted your application 2 weeks prior to the event to be eligible to receive a carer ticket.

What lighting is used?

You are advised that flicker, laser, strobe and other lighting effects may be using during some performances.

Is disabled parking available at the events?

There is disabled parking on site at Boardmasters. Upon arrival please ensure you show your disabled badge to be directed to the appropriate car park.

Will there be entrance queues?

The entrance is larger and is able to cope with the capacity of the festival. Searching is always the first stage when entering the festival so please read the ‘what NOT to bring’ section (within "camping" on the Watergate Bay page) to speed up the process. Whilst we expect Friday morning to be busy, more searching lanes will ease any bottlenecking.

If you are keen to avoid Friday morning entrance queues you may wish to purchase a Thursday - Sunday ticket which will allow you entry before the main body of ticket holders. You can grab a Thursday - Sunday ticket on the ticket purchase page.

Is there re-admission into the festival?

Day ticket holders cannot exit and re-enter the arena. Those with weekend tickets can re-enter the arena as required. Please note that alcohol is not permitted in the Main Arena.

Those with camping tickets can access the campsite as many times as required, but alcohol is only permitted on first entry (during ticket exchange).
