WATERGATE BAY GENERAL INFO

Car Park Opening Times:

  • 5 day camping tickets/5 day VIP weekend camping/Charger ticket holders:
    • Car Park opens Wednesday at 9am - 11pm
  • 4 day weekend camping ticket holders (and above ticket types):
    • Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday: 9am - 11pm
  • Car Parks close: 2pm Monday 10th August

Campsite Opening Times:

To buy tickets at the festival go to the Campsite Box Office (located in yellow weekend Car Park). Opening times:

  • Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday: 9am - 11pm
  • Sunday: closed - alternatively please visit the Main Arena Box Office.

Main Arena Box Office opening times (location: opposite the shuttle bus turning point over the crossing from the main arena):

  • Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday: 9am - 11pm

All VIP and Charger ticket holders have parking included within their ticket price!

ENTRY AND WRISTBANDS AT WATERGATE BAY

Weekend tickets are scanned upon entry to the campsite entrance and exchanged for a matching wristband.
Day tickets and Three Day pass are exchanged at the Main Arena entrance.
Last ticket/wristband exchange is at 11pm at all entrances.

Campsite re-admission policy:

If you are arriving please be aware that the ticket and wristband exchange closes 11pm every night.
When you have your weekend camping wristband you will be able to move between the arena and campsite all the time.
Day ticket holders will not be able to gain access to the campsite.

Main Arena Re-admission Policy:
Day ticket holders cannot exit and re-enter the arena.
General weekend, three day ticket and VIP weekend ticket holders can re-enter the arena until 11pm.

ALCOHOL POLICY AT WATERGATE

CAMPSITE ALCOHOL POLICY

  • Alcohol brought to the festival must comply with the event regulations which are: Weekend campers aged 18 and over can bring in limited amounts and types of alcohol
  • Types of alcohol allowed - beer, cider, alco pops and wine
  • Quantity per person: 24 cans beer or 18 cans of cider or 3 litres of wine or 24 bottles (must be plastic) alco pops
  • NO SPIRITS
  • Excessive amounts of food and cigarettes may be refused entry to the site. Only bring enough for personal consumption.
  • You can only bring in alcohol when you first enter
  • You will not be able to exit & re- enter with alcohol by use of your wristband
  • All drinks must be unopened and NO GLASS!
  • Alcohol is on sale at the event but you must be 18 or over to purchase it
  • Bring ID, you will be asked each time you buy a drink
  • No glass allowed.
  • You must be 18 to bring in alcohol and may be asked for ID.
  • Alcohol will only be permitted on first entry to the festival.
  • It is illegal to attempt to buy alcohol if you are under 18 and it is illegal to buy alcohol for another person who is under 18.
  • Challenge 25 is in place at all bars.

ARENA ALCOHOL POLICY

  • No alcohol is allowed into the festival arena.
  • Day ticket holders are not allowed to bring in any alcoholic drinks.
  • Excessive amounts of food and cigarettes may be refused entry to the site.
  • Only bring enough for personal consumption.
  • It is illegal to attempt to buy alcohol if you are under 18 and it is illegal to buy alcohol for another person who is under 18.
  • Challenge 25 is in place at all bars.

WHAT TO BRING TO WATERGATE BAY

  • Sun tan lotion!
  • Tent - Sleeping bag ]
  • Cash (cash machines are available inside the arena)
  • Wellingtons (just in case!)
  • Mobile phone (a 'temporary' phone would be advisable in case of damage and loss)
  • Warm clothes

WHAT NOT TO BRING TO WATERGATE BAY

Prohibited items include:

  • Glass
  • Any spirits
  • Illegal substances
  • Anything that could reasonably considered for use as a weapon
  • Nitros Oxide and legal highs
  • Any kind of gas or fuel related cookers or stoves
  • Portable or disposable barbeques/ gas/paraffin lamps or any fire related cooking equipment
  • Glass of any kind, including perfume and cologne bottles, beer bottles, jars or drinking vessels
  • Portable laser equipment and pens
  • Megaphones
  • Large sound systems
  • Air horns
  • Fireworks
  • Flares
  • Chinese lanterns
  • Spray cans
  • Animals with the exception of guide dogs
  • Generators, apart from those permanently built into campervans
  • Gas canisters or cylinders apart from those fitted in campervans
  • Unofficial tabards or hi vis jackets
  • Professional camera or video equipment
  • Confiscated items will be destroyed and therefore unavailable for for collection on exit from the festival. If you do not want to lose any of the above items - leave them at home.
  • Campfires are NOT permitted.

Campervan restrictions:

  • Built in generators are allowed.
  • No electricity or water hook ups are available.
  • Each campervan, caravan or motorhome may have one tent alongside (4 man maximum)
  • Cars cannot be parked in the campervan site - they may be used as towing vehicles but must subsequently be moved from the site. 
  • Music is permitted at a 'sociable' volume.
  • Alcohol policy above applies to those in campervans.
  • No pets are allowed (with the exception of guide dogs).
  • Plastic cups and cutlery permitted - knives will be confiscated,
  • All "What not to bring" points above apply.

SMOKING AT WATERGATE BAY

No smoking is permitted in any of the indoor areas. Smoking in any indoor area is illegal and could result in you being fined.

NOISE

Noise levels may exceed 96dB. Prolonged exposure to loud music may affect your hearing. For advice on how to protect your hearing visit the Action on Hearing loss website

AGE RESTRICTIONS AT WATERGATE BAY

Persons aged 15 or under must be accompanied by an adult or guardian of 18 years or over.

The following age restrictions apply (ID may be required to gain entry):

  • - 18 year olds can only accompany two under 16 year olds. 
  • - 24 year olds can only accompany four under 16 year olds. 
  • - 25 year olds can accompany more than four under 16 year olds.
  • - Any children under the age of 10 do not need a ticket - however they must be accompanied by an adult or guardian of 18 years to enter.

FOOD AND CATERING AT WATERGATE BAY

Catering units are present all over the arena - including a classic Cornish Market - offering a huge variety of succulent food.

Whether you enjoy Mexican, Italian or a taste of the West country there's plenty on offer.

You will also find breakfast and snack bars within the campsites operating a service into the small hours, as well as a general store selling foods, sanitary products and camping equipment... all the essentials!

SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE FROM WATERGATE BAY

A shuttle bus will be running between Newquay Town centre and the Watergate Bay festival site.

  • This service will be running every 20 minutes between the following times: Single ticket: £3 Return ticket: £5 Schedule: Weds - 08:00 – 04:30 Monday: 08:00 – 15:00
  • Buses from the festival arena stop at Cliff Road outside Newquay Railway station then Manor Road close to Fistral Beach and the same on the way back.
  • A reduced service will run on Monday morning back to Newquay for all leaving the campsite between 8am - 3pm.

FISTRAL BEACH GENERAL INFO

  • Dates: 5th to 9th August
  • Address: Headland Rd, Newquay, Cornwall TR7 3SW
  • Tickets: Required only for the "Beach Sessions" gigs on the evening's of Wednesday and Thursday - tickets for Beach Sessions are yet to be released. 
  • The Skate & BMX competitions, art installations, retail village and beachside areas are all free to explore.

OPENING TIMES

Fistral Beach Retail Village entry times: 10am to 7pm, Wednesday 6th August - Sunday 10th August.

Beach Bar (daytime hours): 11am to 7pm, Wednesday 6th August - Sunday 10th August.

Beach Bar for Beach Sessions (evening hours): 7.30pm to 12am, Wednesday ad Thursday.

Box Office opening times: 9am to 10pm, Wednesday and Thursday 9am to 7pm, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday

ENTRY AND WRISTBANDS AT FISTRAL BEACH

The Beach Session gigs are the only ticketed events at Fistral Beach.

Upon entry your ticket will be exchanged for a wristband for that night only.

Please note: Beach Session ticket holders cannot exit and re-enter the venue.

ALCOHOL POLICY AT FISTRAL BEACH

No alcohol is to be brought in to the Beach Bar.

Alcohol will be sold in the bar - please ensure you bring photographic ID and be aware that we operate a Challenge 25 policy.

There is no option to camp at Fistral Beach.

All Boardmasters camping is located alongside the Main Arena up at Watergate Bay.

PARKING AT FISTRAL BEACH

A car park is located on Tregunell Hill.

Please endeavour to park away from the event site and walk down as the festivities encompass the entire Fistral beach area.

Headland Road Closure: The road leading down to the beach is closed during the event, this is due to traffic congestion in the past. Avoid trying to access this road.

GETTING HERE

Please note the following road closures: There is a road closure on B3276 Watergate Road from Friday 8th - Sunday 10th August.

Headland road and the Fistral Beach car park is closed from 08:00 to 20:00 on each day Mon 4th Aug to Mon 11th Aug due to the events at Fistral Beach.

Vehicle access is possible at all times for residents and businesses along the road, hotel guests and users of the Headland Road car park.

DRIVING

Directions: Follow the M5 to Exeter then take the A30 to within seven miles of Newquay.

Once near town follow the signs for Fistral Beach for the sports and market or Watergate bay for camping and music festival.

DIRECTIONS

VIP camping tickets please follow signs to VIP car park.

Weekend camping tickets follow the yellow signs for weekend car park.

Day tickets please follow the blue signs for day parking.

For disabled parking please display your blue sticker for the car parking stewards to direct you accordingly.

To find your way to Fistral Beach follow signs from Newquay Town Centre.

Please be aware that parking is extremely limited around the Fistral Beach site.

It is advisable to use the shuttle bus from Watergate Bay.

PARKING

Car parking is available for all Boardmasters customers at Watergate bay.

You must purchase a car parking ticket if you plan to arrive with a car, motorbike or campervan.

Parking around Fistral Beach and town is very limited so we advise you to use the Shuttle bus from Watergate Bay.
